Professor Peggy Southerland is the director of animation and an instructor in the Department of Cinema-Television at Regent University specializing in animation, producing, editing and production design.
Professor Southerland holds decades of professional experience in animation and graphics production. She has owned her own graphics and animation companies, and has served as the director of animation for ABC's Family Channel. Professor Southerland is recipient of numerous awards, including three national Emmy awards ('82, '88, '91), a silver medal at the New York Film Festival ('87) and “Most Celebrated Alumna” at the 25th anniversary of UMBC, an honors university in Maryland ('91). At Regent, she teaches courses in animation, special effects for film, editing and production.
