Ph.D. General Information

 

History

The doctoral program in the School of Communication and the Arts was first offered in the fall of 1991. Since then, more than 100 candidates have graduated and are currently teaching at major colleges and universities, involved in research initiatives, work for media and missions organizations around the world. The program is governed by a rotating committee of faculty members from the School chaired by Dr. William J. Brown.

Regent University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). SACS granted the doctoral program its full accreditation I the spring of 1993. At the same time, the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) also fully accredited the program.

The University and the School received its ten-year reaffirmation of SACS accreditation in fall 1999.

Tuition

Current tuition is set at $950 per credit hour. A minimum of 44 credit hours of coursework are required for the doctoral student’s program.

Program Application Requirements

The doctoral program admits applicants once a year for the University’s fall term. Application to the program may be made at any time, however the deadline for all application materials is the February 1st preceding the next fall term.
