On March 27, 2007, Regent University hosted The Candlelight Forum at the Director’s Guild of America in Los Angeles, CA. This annual event, which began in 1999, honors entertainment industry professionals whose life and work exemplify positive social values. Cheryl McKay received the school's 2007 Alumni Honors in recognition of her outstanding professional achievements. McKay wrote the script for the acclaimed movie, The Ultimate Gift. A Lifetime Achievement Honor went to David Kirkpatrick, former Paramount Pictures president, and The Candlelight Honor went to Bill Ewing, the director of End of the Spear.
The Candlelight Forum was attended by Regent alumni in the Los Angeles area, current Regent students and faculty, and many other industry professionals. The honorees were joined by film producers Ken Wales and Ralph Winter who shared their visions for faith-based media and for increasingly influencing our culture in a positive manner.
