Alison
English ('05): Alison's article,
"The Clarke County War Memorial: Kairos
and Chronos United in the Sacred
Commemoration and Contemplation of Five
Wars" was published in the December
issue of The Journal of American
Culture 27.4 (2004): 384-405. It
focuses on the visual aspects of the
Clarke County War Memorial in Jackson,
AL, and evaluates the memorial using
two scholarly rhetorical methods. The
article also considers the importance
of common human experience in the
specific act of public memorializing
and the significance of the place where
that memorializing occurs.
Jamie
Broadnax ('05): I am currently
working for New Dominion Pictures based
in Suffolk, VA as a set costumer. I am
working on a new TV series called
'Psychic Investigators' and just
finished up the last episode of 'The
F.B.I. Files'. An October release date
is set for a film I completed in June
called 'The Moment After 2: Sleeper's
Awake'. I worked as the 2nd Assistant
Director for the feature length film
shot in Palmdale, California. I plan to
reside in Hampton Roads and Virginia
until opportunities invite me to work
out West where I prefer to have
residence and establish a career.
