Graduating year - 1988
|
|
Elizabeth
Sweatt ('88): I've been with the Fox
affiliate, WDAF-TV for 17 years since my
graduation from Regent. |

Heidi (Brackin) Cancelleri
(‘88): This past year I have been trying
earnestly to catch up to the wave of the
new technology in video production. I have
not worked in my field except once in the
past eight years, so my great ambition and
need is to do whatever it takes to learn
many of the new technology tools in
filmmaking so I can gain employment in what
I truly love. I've taken two courses at VCU
and learned to shoot a Sony BetaSP camera,
and do simple editing; then this past
summer I shot on digital and made a short
documentary on the homeless, and edited on
Final Cut Pro4. At this point I am planning
to work as a long-term Theatre Arts/English
teacher in a local High School and earn
enough money to purchase my own
editing/computer equipment and a
professional camera and go independent in
the summer or fall of 2005. Hopefully, once
I purchase these tools, I can work to begin
to fulfill some of the dreams in my heart. |

Gary Ellwood (’88) and his wife Share
(Venn) Ellwood ('86): We are still
living in San Diego, CA, with our 3
daughters, Stephanie (18), Chelsea (16)
and Alexi (14). Share (Cheryl) is now a
7th grade math teacher in the public
school system. I am the Director of
Production for digital OutPost, a
production company in Carlsbad, CA. |
|
|
Wes Llewellyn (’88): I now have an
office in Burbank, CA and a small
production company called Adeia
Prodcutions. We do it all there from
Production to Post. We have been doing
commercials recently and some
industrials as well. I have been
developing a few scripts and hopefully
will be shooting another film next
year. I love my office and still live
in North Hollywood with my wife of ten
years (Dec. 30th), Amanda. She
completed the Act One Writing for
Hollywood this past summer and is
working on the scripts that I hope to
direct. It is the usual Hollywood
shuffle here. Lots of talk and slow
action. I am also in the process of
getting a website up and will be easy
to find on-line after the first of the
year. |

Patrick K. Smith ('88) and Kimberly D.
Smith ('89) are living in Newport News,
VA. Patrick is teaching English at
Bethel High School in Hampton, VA and
working on his Ph.D. in Educational
Psychology from Capella University, he
will finish in 2006. Kimberly is home
schooling their son Shane who is almost
ten. |

Tom Wilbur (‘88): I just got remarried
on October 2nd of 2004; I had been
divorced for 6 years. I sell packaging
products for Kent Landsburg Co in
Seattle, and was on the leadership team
for our singles ministry at Overlake
Christian Church in Redmond,
Washington. I have also been a
volunteer counselor there; lead Divorce
Recovery for over a year, helped start
a separate program for single moms and
dads of divorce as their needs were not
being addressed in the other group. I
am looking at starting a Marriage
Maintenance class or support group at
the church as my next thing to do...I
love to start new ministries, pass them
on to others and start others. |
