Chris Auer ('81): I am currently Chair
of the Film and Television Department
at the Savannah College of Art and
Design in Savannah, Georgia. The
department has about 400 undergraduate
students (B.F.A.) and 100 graduate
students (M.A. and M.F.A.). I have a
children's book, THE LITTLEST MAGI (Zonderkidz),
now in (finer) stores everywhere. Six
more books are due out in January and
February, THE LEGEND OF THE SAND
DOLLAR, MOLLY AND THE GOOD SHEPHERD,
and a mystery series (four books) in
the style of The Hardy Boys titled THE
MYSTERIES OF ECKERT HOUSE. All are for
Zonderkidz. This represents about three
years of work, and it's odd that they
are all coming out at once, but that's
show biz. I am also finishing a
documentary script (for the Newington-Cropsey
Foundation), with Steve Sylvester,
titled LOST LETTER OF FAITH about a
curious 1st C. artifact. Don't know
about distribution on that one, but if
anything happens I'll send the
information along. Jane and I,
newlyweds when we first came to Regent,
just celebrated 26 years of marriage.
The oldest of our six children is
getting married next summer, the second
works as a teacher in the Washington
D.C. area, the third is a sophomore at
Notre Dame, the fourth starts college
next year, the fifth starts high school
next year, and the sixth, is in second
grade. All in all it's been a lot of
fun, and we look back at our time in
Virginia Beach with a lot of fondness.
Rob Cody (’81): I’m in my 15th year at
The Iona Group in Morton, IL. We work
mostly for corporations, creating
“solutions” to their communication
needs. Services include video and audio
production, multimedia training and
development, website development, etc.
Some of our clients include
Caterpillar, Pioneer Hi-Bred
International, The Chicago Museum of
Science and Industry, Rawlings, State
Farm Insurance. You can check out our
website (currently undergoing a
redesign) at: http://www.ionagroup.com/ionagroup/intro.html.
I’m the Video Services Director, and am
primarily involved in video production
(mostly non-linear editing). One of our
current projects is a high profile,
cool project for the Museum of Science
and Industry. They have contracted us
to do all the A-V for a renovated
exhibit on the captured German
submarine, the U-505 (from WWII). This
should be finalized somewhere around
May or June of 2005.
