Franco Gandolfi, DBA
Researcher, published author and international consultant, Dr. Gandolfi serves as the director of the MBA/EMBA programs and professor of management in the School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship. He holds degrees in commerce and adult education from the Swiss Institute of Commerce and Economics and the University of Sydney, as well as doctoral qualifications in business administration from Southern Cross University, Australia.
Prior to his position at Regent University, Dr. Gandolfi spent three years as an associate professor of international management at Cedarville University, Ohio, and four years as the sub-dean of the Faculty of Business & Law and senior lecturer at Central Queensland University in Sydney, Australia. Specializing in human resources management, international management and change management, he regularly advises corporations in Australia, Switzerland and the United States of America.
Dr. Gandolfi is an active researcher and writer. He is the principal author of five textbooks, including: "Organisational Downsizing: The Role and Significance of Training and Development (T&D) during Corporate Downsizing" (2010), "Human Resource Management: Fundamentals, Concepts, and Perspectives" (2010), "Downshifting: A Theoretical and Practical Approach to Live a Simplified Life" (2008), "Fundamentals of Human Resources Management (HRM)" (2007), and of the much acclaimed book "Corporate Downsizing Demystified: A Scholarly Analysis of a Business Phenomenon" (2006). Most recently, Dr. Gandolfi has collaborated with some of the world’s most recognized leadership scholars and edited a leadership book titled “Foundations of Contemporary Leadership” (2011) published by Lambert Academic Publishing.
Dr. Gandolfi has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed research articles and has been published in top tier international journals, including the Journal of Management & Organization, Journal of Human Resource Development International, SAM Advanced Management Journal, Review of International Comparative Management, International Journal of Enterprise and Management Development, and the International Journal of Innovation and Learning. Dr. Gandolfi has also contributed to eight textbooks and written numerous articles for practitioner magazines, including the Ivey Business Journal, Monash Business Review, HR Monthly and the Australian Human Resources Magazine.
Dr. Gandolfi serves on a number of international boards and committees and has been a key judging panel member for the prestigious Australian HR Awards since 2004. Dr. Gandolfi is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), the European Academy of Management (EURAM), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM), and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Gandolfi held various management and senior consulting positions at Novartis, Roche, and Credit Suisse in Switzerland. Having served as a first-lieutenant in the Swiss Army Forces, he honorably retired in 2007 having attained the highest non-active duty military rank in the Swiss Army Forces.
