PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
A 9-month leadership development and training program for highly qualified leaders, 20-30 years old; selected from 26 departments (states) across Peru, utilized a blended delivery of on-site instruction and online (Internet) assignments.
BACKGROUND
With nearly 60 percent of the population in Latin America between the ages of 18 and 30, the next generation of leaders are quickly assuming new roles of influence within their various organizations. Many of these young "leaders" will be inheriting economic systems and organizational dynamics that are contrary to future success.
According to TILAC (Transparency International Latinoamerica y el Caribe), the level of corruption in Latin America is the second highest in the world as stated in the 2002 Corruption Perceptions Index. This fact has contributed to criminal activities, a thriving narcotics industry, extensive poverty, contracting economic growth rates, unemployment and skewed income distribution. The opportunity to introduce proven leadership values and strategies provides this next generation of leaders the opportunity to transform their organizations and facilitate community and national advancements.
