Doctoral Degree Applicants
NOTE: all new doctoral students must begin their program in the Summer Semester (May of each year) Application Deadline - March 1 |
We are excited that you are considering Regent University's School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship as the place to pursue your doctoral education.
The application process consists of six steps that must be completed prior to the deadline.
Applicants to our doctoral degree programs must have earned a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution OR an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, as evaluated by a credential evaluating agency.
When applying to the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership or Doctor of Strategic Leadership program, the admissions committee, comprised of several faculty members, will use a rubric to independently evaluate and score each of the following criteria:
- Academic achievement in the bachelor's and master's degrees
- Writing quality
- Alignment of personal goals to Ph.D. or DSL outcomes
- Number of years in leadership positions
- Leadership impact
- Number of leadership positions held
An average score is then calculated to ensure that a low score in one area will not cause an applicant to be denied acceptance into the program. The final admissions decision is based on your final rubric score. However, in rare cases, the admissions committee has the authority to overrule the rubric score and accept an applicant that may have been denied based on the rubric score. Please keep in mind that this is a rare occurrence.
