Ms. Tracy Stewart

Ms. Tracy Stewart serves both as vice president for Information Technology and executive director of the School of Undergraduate Studies (RSU) at Regent University. She has an extensive background both in management and software systems development and a proven track record of building strong relationships throughout organizations using a resolute teamwork approach. Under Stewart’s leadership, Regent’s IT department received the 2009 CIO 100 Award from the International Data Group’s CIO magazine, having distinguished itself through the effective and innovative use of technology. In 2007, Blackboard Inc. recognized her as a Blackboard Greenhouse Exemplary Course Program Winner for her Web Design and Publishing online course taught at Regent.

In her role as executive director of RSU, Stewart leads an aggressive expansion campaign that incorporates restructured course programs, additional degree offerings, and innovative recruitment measurement and marketing. From Fall 2008 to Fall 2009, RSU grew from 1,421 to 1,901 students—a 34 percent increase. The school continues to expand its programs and student body, with the goal of growing to 30,000 students enrolled either on campus in Virginia Beach, Va., or online by 2014. RSU ranked second in the nation for online programs in 2009, based on the OEDB (Online Education Database) Online College Rankings, thanks to the increased online emphasis of Stewart and her team.

Before coming to Regent, Stewart worked as the Chief Technology Officer for FamilyClick.com, an Internet filtering service, where she was responsible for the design and implementation of the FamilyClick nationwide Internet service provider, portal infrastructure and application service provider products. Stewart also worked for the FOX Family Channel as director of Information Technology for five years.

Stewart earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and a M.S. in Computer Science from Old Dominion University. She and her husband, Phil, have two children. She enjoys golf and running in her spare time.
