Chief Financial Officer
Robert Owen joined the Regent University executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer in August 2015. He has more than 25 years of experience in finance and accounting, serving in key financial leadership positions in the corporate and academic sectors. He has executive and public accounting experience in a variety of industries, both domestic and international, including Post-Secondary Education, Travel and Leisure, Retail, Real Estate and Telecommunications. His experience includes strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, capital markets transactions, technical accounting, systems implementations and business process reengineering.
Most recently, he served as a senior financial executive for a national university with an enrollment exceeding 75,000 students. Owen also served in progressively responsible financial leadership roles for two international cruise lines - Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises. He began his career with Deloitte, a global accounting and financial consulting firm, working in audit positions in the United States and Canada.
Owen earned a B.B.A. degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University in 1983. He obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida in 1985 and as a Chartered Accountant in Ontario, Canada, in 1994.
